Avoid spam: Use your web-based contact form
Why?
If you post your email address on other web-sites, e.g. as part of an advert for your services, that address will soon be targeted with large amounts of spam. So instead of posting your email address you can post a link to your web-based personal contact form here - the message will automatically be forwarded to your normal email address, but no spam*!
How to use it
First log in, then select My account (on the orange menu) then the Edit tab. Make sure that your email address there is correct - this is important because your messages will be forwarded to that address. Further down, check the box marked Personal contact form if it's not already checked. If you made changes, click the Submit button to save them.
What's the address (url) of the Contact Form?
From My account you can click the Contact tab. You will see the address of your Contact Form in your browser.
English or Spanish version of the form?
The address that you see will depend on which language you have set to view the site. There are three addresses - one displays the form in English, another in Spanish, and a third address for automatic language selection. The difference is the language code in the address, it comes (optionally) after the www.axlan.com part.
- www.axlan.com/en/user/1/contact will display the form in English.
- www.axlan.com/es/user/1/contact will display the form in Spanish.
- www.axlan.com/user/1/contact will display the form with automatic language selection.
In the third case the language will be set automatically depending on the browser settings of the visitor. In general this will result in the form being shown in Spanish only for those people who have their PC set up in Spanish, and English for all others. So this version of the address is probably the most general-purpose.
- Just to be clear, by spam we mean automated junk mail sent out by spambots - of course somebody could manually send you junk mail via this form, but that's unlikely. It's also remotely possible that a spambot could find a way around the captcha system used to prevent automated submissions to the form. So, receiving spam via this route is possible, just highly unlikely.
